Madison County Jail Roster Search
The Madison County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center sit at the center of local inmate records. The research found a vendor-hosted roster at madisonjail.org and related roster pages at myr2m.com/madisoncoroster that identify the roster as Madison County Sheriff's Office. Because the roster is vendor-hosted, it should be used as a sheriff roster channel, not as a county.gov case database. The Jail can also be reached by phone for current custody questions.
Local inmate records are not the same as court records. A booking entry may list charges, bail, attorney fields, next court date, and arresting agency, but the court case file lives in iCourt and with the Madison County Clerk / Clerk of the District Court. The jail roster may be the fastest way to confirm local custody. For the full criminal case file, plea, disposition, sentence, or docket history, use the court record path after confirming the booking.

The Sheriff's Office source provides the local address, phone block, email, records request link, and public-safety context used for jail and booking access.
Use Madison County Inmate Roster
The roster search supports name, booking date, release date, custody status, and sex filters. Start broad, then narrow. If the name is common, use a booking date range or status filter. If no local result appears, check whether the person is in state prison, on Idaho probation or parole, released, housed for another agency, or listed under a different name format.
- Open the Madison County jail roster search and choose current inmates, new inmates, or recent releases.
- Enter a last name, first name, middle name, booking-date range, or release-date range when known.
- Use the sex filter only if it helps narrow a large result set.
- Review the name, booking date, charge list, bail, status, and next court date fields before relying on a match.
- Call the Jail at 208-372-5002 when custody, bond, release, or transport status may have changed.
Note: The roster can change quickly after release, court transport, bond posting, or a transfer to another agency.
Madison County Inmate Search Fields
The roster search fields are more detailed than a simple name box. They allow a user to look for current inmates, new inmates, and recent releases. The date filters are useful when checking a recent arrest, while the status filter helps separate a person still in custody from a person who has already been released.

The new-inmates view supports the distinction between current jail custody and recently booked people who may later move, bond out, or be released.
Madison County Inmate Record Fields
A roster entry is a custody snapshot. It does not prove guilt and does not replace the court file. The research inventory found booking and case-related fields that help a reader connect jail custody to court records, bond, and next appearances. Some fields may be blank, and some may change after court action.

IDOC vs Madison County Jail
Local jail and state correction records are different systems. The Madison County roster is for local custody and recent jail activity. The Idaho Department of Correction Resident/Client Search covers people in IDOC custody, on court probation, or on parole. IDOC says its search includes a listing of felonies for which a person is serving time, but it warns that location, status, and termination dates can change quickly.
| Search | Use It For | Fields |
|---|---|---|
| Madison County jail roster | Current local inmates, new bookings, recent releases | Name, booking range, release range, status, sex. |
| IDOC resident/client search | State prison, probation, parole, IDOC jurisdiction | Last name, first name, IDOC number, search, reset. |
| iCourt Portal | Criminal court case file and hearings | Case number, party name, court location, case type, date range. |
An arrest may produce a jail roster entry before the court file is easy to locate. A conviction may later appear in IDOC or DMV records depending on the sentence and case type. Use each system for its own record, then verify uncertain matches with the Jail or Clerk.
Madison County Booking and Bond
Booking begins after arrest or transfer into local custody. Detention deputies search the person, complete booking, fingerprint and photograph the inmate, maintain jail records, and handle releases. A roster entry may show pretrial status, total bail, charges, next court date, and attorney fields. Those fields help connect the jail record to a court case, but they may lag behind the court's latest order.
Bond should be confirmed before payment. A court may set bond, reinstate bond, change conditions, or hold a person without bond depending on the case. If the issue involves a missed hearing or warrant, check both the jail and court. The Madison County warrant search path explains how active warrants, bench warrants, and jail custody checks fit together.
Madison County Jail Visitation
Madison County detention visitation is through the Telmate video visitation system. Visitors set up an account through GettingOut. The provider source supports the account-based video visitation process described by the Madison County detention page.
Inmate Calls and Commissary
The Madison County Sheriff's Office contracts with Telmate for inmate telephone services. Calling options include collect calls, prepaid calls, and debit calls. Collect calls are paid by the recipient, but they cannot be made to cell phones, business phones, or blocked numbers. Prepaid accounts are funded by the called party, and debit calls are paid by the inmate from commissary-purchased phone time.
| Service | Provider / Method | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Video visitation | Telmate / GettingOut | Account required; inmate or visitor can schedule. |
| On-site video | Two facility video stations | Available during posted visiting hours. |
| Remote video | Computer, tablet, or cell phone | Completed outside the facility through provider account. |
| Collect calls | Telmate | Not available to cell phones, business phones, or blocked numbers. |
| Prepaid calls | Telmate website or 1-866-516-0115 | Called party funds the account. |
| Debit calls | Inmate commissary/debit time | Inmate pays; no charge appears on the called party bill. |
| Trust / commissary money | Telmate online, phone, or jail kiosk | Funds allow the inmate to buy debit phone time. |

For the successful phone-service capture, see the Madison County inmate telephone services page.
The phone source confirms Telmate options, prepaid and debit call types, kiosk funding, and the customer service number used for inmate trust deposits.
Booking Records and Apps
Booking records, incident reports, and sheriff-held records can be requested through the Madison County Sheriff's records request path or NextRequest. The Sheriff's Office lists sheriff@madisonsheriff.com as an email contact, and the county NextRequest form accepts incident date, case number, and request format fields. Court documents, however, should be requested from the Clerk or through courthouse kiosk access because they are court files.
Research did not confirm a sheriff-specific app-only inmate lookup for Madison County. Idaho Sheriff Connect exists in app stores and advertises sheriff-office news, jail information, and crime prevention, but Madison County participation was not verified. Rexburg Police app sources are confirmed for documents, events, news, push notifications, anonymous tips, crime alerts, and a crime map. Those police app tools are useful for public-safety updates, not jail roster replacement.
When a booking record is needed for a court deadline, bond question, or attorney meeting, use the jail phone for current custody facts and the court record for case status. The roster can show charges and next court date fields, but the Clerk and iCourt remain the better sources for pleadings, orders, disposition, and hearing changes after the first appearance.
