Madison County Court Records Access Rules
Idaho public-record access starts with the presumption in Idaho Code 74-102 that public records are open unless a law says otherwise. Requests to public agencies follow Idaho Code 74-103. Restricted Madison County Court Records
Not every record in a Madison County case is public online. Juvenile cases, adoption records, mental health proceedings, sealed documents, medical information, financial account data, Social Security numbers, minor names, protected victim information, and presentence investigation materials may be redacted or closed. A public docket may show less detail when a case is sealed or partly confidential.
Idaho has limited expungement and sealing mechanisms. If charges were never filed, were dismissed, or ended in acquittal, Idaho Code 67-3004 may be relevant to certain criminal history or nonconviction arrest records. Adult convictions are not broadly erased through a simple all-purpose process. Filing logistics go through the Madison County Clerk and Clerk of the District Court, but eligibility is a legal question.
